Amarjeet Sohi Nominated as Liberal Candidate in Edmonton Mill Woods
EDMONTON, AB – Members of the Edmonton Mill Woods Federal Liberal Association met Thursday, February 12 and nominated Amarjeet Sohi as the Liberal Party of Canada candidate in Edmonton Mill Woods for the next general election.

“We are pleased to have Councillor Sohi as our candidate,” said Sital Nanuan, the President of the Liberal Party of Canada in Edmonton Mill Woods. “It is always exciting when you have someone with an extensive track record of community service seeking to represent our riding in Ottawa.”Amarjeet Sohi has served on Edmonton City Council since 2007, currently representing Ward 12. His current initiatives include Public Transit, where he is Edmonton’s representative on the Canadian Urban Transit Association, as well as Seniors, Poverty Elimination, Multiculturalism, and Racism Free Edmonton.Amarjeet previously served as a member of the Edmonton Police Commission, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association as VP and Director for cities with populations over 500,000.
Welcoming his nomination, Amarjeet stated, “I am thrilled to represent the Liberal Party of Canada in Edmonton Mill Woods. I look forward to continuing to be a strong advocate for Southeast Edmonton, and to working with Edmontonians to ensure we have a strong voice for our community in Ottawa.”
