Liberal Party of Canada (Alberta) to hold Convention in Edmonton

EDMONTON – Liberals from across the province will be coming to Edmonton for the weekend of February 26 – 28, announced the Liberal Party of Canada (Alberta), today. The Alberta wing of the federal party will be holding its biennial Policy Convention at the Sutton Place Hotel, Edmonton ahead of the national Biennial Convention to be held in Winnipeg later this year. The convention is being chaired by Karen Leibovici, Matt Grant, and Puneeta Sandhu McBryan.

“After an exciting election last fall, this is an excellent opportunity for Liberal Party members both old and new to come together and discuss how we can continue to engage fellow Albertans in building a strong, positive future for Canada,” said Leibovici.

The roster of special guests for the convention already includes leading Liberals from Alberta and across Canada, including the Honourable Amarjeet Sohi (Edmonton Mill Woods), the Honourable Kent Hehr (Calgary Centre), the Honourable Maryam Monsef (Peterborough – Kawartha), the Honourable Harjit Sajjan (Vancouver South), Randy Boissonnault (Edmonton Centre) and Darshan Kang (Calgary Skyview).

“The convention has a full schedule, running Friday evening and all day Saturday, and offers sessions on both policy development and grassroots political engagement,” said Sandhu McBryan. Added Matt Grant, “we anticipate confirming more guest speakers and presenters in the coming days, and we invite all Albertans to continue to get involved in shaping real change for our communities and a better Canada.”
