Kent Hehr Nominated as Liberal Candidate in Calgary Centre
CALGARY, AB – Members of the Calgary Centre Federal Liberal Association met Friday, November 28 and nominated Kent Hehr as the Liberal Party of Canada candidate in Calgary Centre for the next general election.
Kent has served in the Alberta Legislature as the Member for Calgary – Buffalo since 2008. Kent serves as the Alberta Liberal Party’s critic for Education, Energy, Finance, as well as several other portfolios.
A lawyer and a community activist, Kent practiced law with Fraser Milner Casgrain prior to serving in the Legislature. He has undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Calgary, was named the Graduate of the Decade by the University of Calgary Alumni Association, and in 2008 was named by the Calgary Herald as one of “20 Compelling Calgarians.”
Welcoming his nomination, Kent stated, “I am thrilled to represent the Liberal Party of Canada in Calgary Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to ensure that voters in Calgary Centre have a strong voice to represent them in Ottawa on important issues. I look forward to further meeting Calgary Centre residents over the coming months, and earning their trust.”
